Monday’s are most people’s worst day of the week, right?
Whether you, or someone you know, always grumbles about having to start working, let me share some advice that may change your mind…
It’s the one opportunity you have to get started on the right foot.
Statistics show that 61% “wish they were more productive.” Also, employees feel better staying at home or “avoiding the rush” on Monday’s than any other week.
So how can you turn Monday’s from feeling blue to sunny side up?
Here are 3 ways I adjusted my day to make my daily grind motivating.
It’s all about routine
When I wake up Monday morning, I’m refreshed & energized because of one thing: I planned.
The thing is, when I plan ahead of time on Sunday, the transition process to Monday becomes a lot easier.
Here is a guideline to keep in mind:
- Find a time that works for you on Sunday.
- Plan your week based on priorities & what you’re looking forward to.
- Automate any tasks to any 3rd party software you have, or simply do it yourself by jotting ideas, outlines, etc. of anything you have to do.
Starting the week becomes a lot easier when you have everything all set n’ ready to go!
Your mindset counts
Instead of seeing Monday as the day you have to wake up early, talk to people you don’t want to, or anything that you have to do in either your in-person or remote work — take into consideration what you like to do.
There has to be one thing you like, right?
Whether it’s starting a new exercise, tasting food, or going to the library — view every Monday as an opportunity.
Life starts to get a little brighter when you think of what you want to do.
Along with mindset…
Find small motivators
This can be a simple podcast episode releasing every Monday that you just absolutely love (mine is Modem Mischief), or the opportunity to learn a new concept in college you were curious about.
For me, I find that my mind is fresh & able to learn easier, so I look forward to giving my best effort on Monday!
Even just a small motivator can give you the right fuel to keep the rest of your day going, or make you look forward to doing.
Takeaway
By having a Sunday routine, switching my mindset, and finding small motivators I’m happy to say that Monday is my favorite day of the week!
Having structure has helped me to enjoy the daily grind, not just on Monday but throughout the week — simply because I started the week strong, and on the right foot.
If these strategies have worked for me, I have no doubt that in whatever situation or occupation you have, that these will work for you, too!
I would love to hear about your experience, what’s your favorite day of the week?
