🌱 I Used to Hate the Weekdays… What Changed?

My transition from high school to college & the mindset I learned from it

Morning after morning I would learn the Pythagorean Theorum, English, and History, yet never have any interest in them.

Since I had made the switch to homeschool for highschool, I certainly had more time to play Minecraft, but it didn’t give me any love for what I was learning.

As a 16 year old kid, not only did I have to do studying — but chores, too!

Could life get any worse?

The problem

What I struggled with was not having the discipline to study on my own.

After having years in public school to make me feel confident that school was dumb & I wasn’t learning anything (it was really boring), all I wanted to do was play video games.

The solution

Since I was accustomed to thinking that school sucked, when I finally had freedom at home — it didn’t change.

Until… something clicked.

I was working through an Algebra problem, and having been playing around with Blender 3D the months before, I realized how much math helped make the complex models I was building.

To make 3D visible on a computer after all, it takes a lot of both geometry & algebra — something that, sure, I had known. But it hadn’t appealed to me before diving into designing fun 3D models.

Soon enough, algebra became interesting to me. I was solving a real-life problem with it!

When I moved into college, it only got better. Because now I’m studying 3D concepts for my Graphic Design degree.
