How to do the best you can in your ever-changing schedule🔑

You know the feeling when you have a set time in your mind, yet the clock hits 20 minutes past that?
Time seems to have blurred by when you thought that it had stood still, just for you, when preparing lunch for your work or school day.
Ok just me?
I know that time doesn’t stand still only for me, but often I wish it would… which is why when the time is suddenly a lot later than I imagined, getting that anxiety hit is natural.
Even if you consider yourself perfectly time-oriented, it’s OK to lose track.
Here’s why!
Circumstances change
If daylight savings is suddenly upon you & it’s time to switch the clock an hour forward (that or vice versa, I forget), if you felt good about your routine before — oh boy, now it’s time to get used to this one!
Even the slightest change can throw us for a loop.
Time flew by!
Often it feels like this metaphor, but often we just weren’t expecting how long a task would take.
And that’s OK, it means that we have room to adjust our schedule so we can fit it in next time.
Even if the day is gone, there’s still some daylight to finish up what you needed!
Catch-up work
Ever had a day when you feel you had at least this one task under way, to realize that you have an overdue one from yesterday? If you’re like me, that overdue task comes first & then the task planned for today becomes overdue for tomorrow!
There seems to be no way to get on top of your workload, unless you apply a simple mindset shift.
Flexibility
We might not be able to touch our toes, but we can take a deep breath when our schedule is thrown for a loop!
Even when circumstances change, time flew by, or you have overdue tasks, just take a moment to analyze what went wrong.
Maybe a friend came over, try planning in a 2-hour no-work zone to make up for any disturbances during the day.
There’s severe weather impacting your route to work, do anything you can at home while waiting out the storm so you aren’t overwhelmed when you’re finally able to go.
The thing is, anything can happen.
Not everyone is gifted with a perfect schedule:
- You run late
- Skipped lunch
- Have catch-up work
But being flexible helps you to do the best you can! 🔑
