Sometimes we have to write when inspiration strikes ⚡️

Today I was cooking, watching the golden sunlight fade from behind the trees. And suddenly I had a kind of “eureka” moment.

It wasn’t so sudden, as if out of thin air. It was because I had been thinking of an experience I went through in the past that helped me understand how much I’ve grown, and suddenly I needed to write it down.

After basically lunging for my phone, I walked around the kitchen for an easy 20 minutes while dinner simmered in the pan, and typed away.

When I finished…

  1. I realized how behind I was that I wouldn’t be able to do my daily reading.
  2. I felt satisfied that after a late morning I hadn’t written a story except for in that moment.

Even if I feel frustrated when I can’t get something done I was planning, there’s a feeling that I was missing recently: Inspiration.

I can’t plan it, I can’t force it, and I can’t move it for another time.

Inspiration always happens in that moment, whether I start daydreaming or simply thinking about something.

By understanding this, I’ve learned not to force it away or ignore it.

Use inspiration to your advantage, you never know how it might make your work easier.
